About Us

 The Multicultural Direct Selling Alliance

Mission Statement

Our mission is to elevate the business of direct selling as an opportunity, to enhance the lives of women and their families, and to empower one to direct selling success.

Purpose

Our purpose is to provide a networking resource center for Women owned and African American owned direct sales companies. These resources will include products and services that will enhance new and existing direct sales companies and their consultants. We aim to provide coaching services and plan development packages to direct selling companies, and we aim to provide resources, tele- seminars, and products to direct sellers.

Philosophy

My philosophy is to use direct selling as a means to elevate women, improve the economic development of African Americans and to draw attention to the personal side of direct selling as a means to enhance and improve the lives of others.

Dear Current and Future MDSA Members,

As a direct seller for 14 years, I have come to realize the power of the industry.  I have been able to use money earned from various direct sales companies to buy diapers and formula, to pay off extra bills, vacations, and even save for a down payment for a home.  My philosophy is-why work 20 hours a week at the mall as a second job, when you can work 5  hours a week and make more money.  One party can generate $200 to $500 in commissions in your pocket the same day!  I want people to see and understand that reasoning.

Direct Selling has often been portrayed in a negative light due to pryamiad schemes, and even unethical representatives that work for legitimate companies.  The MDSA is a resource that a persons interested in finding a direct sales company can use in order to find the best opportunity for them.  Our DS Corporate Members must meet our ethical standards and agree to an Ethics Creed before becoming members.  Members of the Direct Selling Association (www.dsa.org)  and the Direct Selling Women's Alliance (www.mydswa.org) can automatically become members of the MDSA since these organizations have a higher code of ethics.  The MDSA will provide diversity to the direct selling industry by placing special emphasis on African American and other minority owned direct sales companies.    Also, women owned and small business companies may not qualify for the DSA when starting out.  The MDSA invites these new companies even after the first month of launch.  There are those that want to create a direct sales company or enhance your exisiting company.  Becoming a member of the MDSA will provide you with resources to help you in your start up endeavors.

The MDSA also provides coaching and training to your sales representatives through your company's conference calls by inviting our full time business coach to your call as a Guest Speaker to address your  representative's needs.  We know the pitfalls of the industry, the mistakes that others have made, the tools that really work.  This training can assist your representatives to direct selling success. The more successful your reps are, the more success you have as a direct selling company.

I wanted to create a network that is not repeating the same things that you hear in direct selling.  Why rewite what's already been written?  There are many wonderful resources that I have found to train the sales representative of such companies, and to also help future direct sales companies develop on a shoestring budget.  I have worked really hard to develop a membership program that will be worth paying for.  I hope you enjoy membership.
